Old Mac's are available in 9 sizes (0 - 8) with each size increasing by 5.0 mm (3/16 inch) in the width and 5.0mm in the length.

The unique design feature of Old Mac's allows for width and length adjustment to suit most individual horse's hooves and also caters for natural hoof growth between trimming. 

Please note we have simplified Old Mac's size selection process. The dimensions on the Old Mac's size chart now reflect the HOOF size (versus the internal dimensions of the boot). There is no longer a need to up a size if measurements are identical. Changes implemented shoud NOT alter the Old Mac's boot size selected.

 

Prior to measuring it is very important that your horse's hooves have been recently trimmed ensuring all flare is removed.  If you intend to wear Old Mac's over metal shoes for transport then you must take your measurement after shoeing. 

Measure your horse's hooves after trimming, measuring both front and back hooves as the back hooves may be narrower and shorter in length than the front.  Record the measurements and follow the simple size selection steps.

Step 1   Measure the HOOF LENGTH, measuring from the toe to the buttress of the heel.   Circle the closest measurement for your horse's length on the size chart.   Step 2  Measure the HOOF WIDTH. Be sure to take the measurement across the widest part of the hoof. On the size chart circle the closest measurement to your horse's width measurement. *** If the hoof length exceeds the width by more than 20mm or 3/4 inch or there is a discrepancy in the sizes,  contact us with your measurements before ordering. ***  Step 3  From the two measurements circled on the size chart, select the LARGEST CORRESPONDING OLD MAC'S SIZE. This is the correct Old Mac's boot size for your horse.
