"The major benefit I can see with Old Mac's is increased awareness or proprioception of movement of the horse. This would not only help horses undergoing rehabilitation but also open a new gateway for improving a horse's already learned way of movement. Another benefit from wearing Old Mac's will be less wear and tear on the joints, tendons, ligaments, bones and muscles."

David Hall, Horse Trainer

"Old Mac's Multi Purpose Horse Boots have been very beneficial to us in the Racing Industry, especially in transportation. The safest way to travel in a float and/or aeroplane is with Old Mac's boots on every hoof.

For Veterinarian purposes, Old Mac's have been an extreme advantage to us because we're able to continue exercising the horse when it has any type of injury. Fitting the horse with Old Mac's means we are able to keep the horse moving - walking, swimming or if we want to remove all metal shoes we can trot and exercise the horse in Old Mac Boots. We've found this option to be vital in a horse's scheduled preparation."

Spring Valley Heritage Horse Ride - 2000

Old Mac's Multi Purpose Horse Boots were a proud sponsor of the 'Spring Valley Heritage Horse Ride.' This 'Journey of a lifetime' left from Broome, Australia, on April 14, 2000. Organised by Unique Australian Horsesports to promote the Australian Stockhorse and celebrate the unique Australian way of life, two teams of riders set out to ride more than 16,000 kilometers around the country. Collecting messages of goodwill for the Sydney 2000 Olympics to be presented to Lord Mayor, Hon. Frank Sartor, horses were fitted with Old Mac's and travelled the sometimes-rugged journey in absolute comfort.

In Sydney on August 13, 2000 at the completion of the journey, Dr. Chris Johnson, Equine Veterinarian with the ride had this to say about Old Mac's:

"Old Mac's have been great for us on this trip from protecting horses hooves along the highway to providing protection and stability on ramps and trailers. I can see a therapeutic use for Old Mac's in that if a horse is injured and can't be shod you can still have that horse doing some work wearing Old Mac's. We've found Old Mac's very, very useful and will be using then a lot more."

"I've ridden over 1,000 km's in the same set of Old Mac's and there's still heaps of riding left in them. Since my horse has been wearing Old Mac's I can feel how comfortable he is. They're a lot better on the horse and there is no longer a need to shoe the horses. Old Mac's have totally eliminated stone bruising which was a huge problem. I think they will be unbelievable for those people who only ride their horses once or twice a week. I am a real convert to Old Mac's and will definitely be doing all my riding in them in the future."

Peter Honeywill ~ Queensland, Australia
Peter has over 32 years experience in the racing industry as an official and trainer, has participated in polocrosse for 17 years.

This is what Peter Honeywill had to say about his Old Mac's...

"After doing thousands of km's over very difficult conditions on my 11 yr old champion polocrosse mare Centre Line and young mare Carlwin Star,  I was absolutely amazed at the small amount of wear on my Old Mac's Boots. I am convinced any one using Old Mac's could expect them to last up to 5 years. What a saving in shoeing fees that would be!

........ in the annual 'Athra' ride in hot and dry conditions over extremely mountainous country, many horses had trouble completing the ride, tying up and receiving stone bruises. I rode my horse with Old Mac's on all four feet and completed the ride successfully. One rider had a horse with a very tender foot from a stone bruise. She was unable to ride it,  so she led it with an inferior boot fitted. The inferior boot kept falling off. I lent her a spare Old Mac's Boot and the horse was rideable and comfortable. Old Mac's did not come off even under the most rugged conditions.

My horses while mustering , have floundered up to their bellies in Ti-tree swamp, have swam in fresh and salt water and these boots have never come off.

......Old Mac's were invaluable when riding over bitumen and cement, preventing nasty falls. 12 months ago I rode Star across my stamped cement driveway, she came down heavily and both of us were sore and sorry for a few days. I vowed to stay off that driveway in future. However last week I was riding past on the same horse and thought She's got Old Mac's on, not a worry. I rode across the driveway and she didn't even look like slipping.

.......as race club steward and honorary farrier on race days... my most common duty as farrier is to replace plates pulled off on the journey to the track. This would be prevented if Old Mac's Boots were fitted.
.....horses being led around to the barrier by the clerk of the course tend to lean over the clerks horse and stand on the horses feet. By using Old Mac's it not only protects your horses feet but also the horse you are leading, perhaps all clerks should use these boots.

"My opinion is that Old Mac's Hoof Suspension is one of the most exciting innovations offered to the horse industry in my lifetime"
